IAM/MAI #12: Archiving video game sound

About this meeting:

IAM/MAI #12 Opening statement (M.S. Poirier)

Title: Archiving video game sound: Cultural legacy or reusable assets?
Abstract: Archiving tends to be too often seen from the patrimonial angle: we talk about museums and public archives, but data preservation internally at game development companies and in the private sector is less common but just as important. Sometimes, in order to recover the original sounds, we frequently have no choice but to rely on analysis and reverse engineering.
