Board Leadership Calgary (BLC) is a learning collaborative that was formed in 2013 to organize affordable and accessible learning opportunities for board members and staff of smaller not-for-profits. Based on a successful model out of Edmonton, numerous Calgary based organizations partnered to present the first Board Leadership Event in Calgary in April 2014 called “Board Governance Basics for Board Members”. After a successful event with over 200 in attendance, we decided that we would continue the series. Similar events in Edmonton and Medicine Hat are offered as well. In addition, after the inaugural Board Leadership Calgary conference in April 2014, many participants asked for more resources and support around financial literacy and fund development. So we answered by designing the first ever Make Dollars Make Sense learning event which took place on November 22, 2014! Check out the website often for information about our November 2016 event.
