About this Event

In Chef Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng’s book of recipes, you can see him racing in between the mountains and coastlines on his motorcycle, and gathering ingredients with the farmers and fishermen to cook home-style dishes outdoors. In his cooking class, you can expect no less adventuring! Instead of taking notes in a classroom, you follow Chef Hung through the crowded streets of Hanoi, sampling the local produce, focusing on the little flavours and textures of garlic and rice noodles. When you finally enter the kitchen, you’ll prepare classic Vietnamese recipes from Hanoi, and experience the authentic local lifestyle of Vietnam at the dining table. Join Chef Hung, and sign up for one of only 12 spots in his unique cooking class at TAIWANfest!

Asian-Canadian Special Events Association (ACSEA) has a long history in developing and managing large scale events, including a very successful partnership with Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and recurring partnerships with other professional arts and cultural institutions such as PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, Vancouver International Children's Festival, Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. ACSEA's own annual signature events across Vancouver and Toronto attract over 500,000 visitors to engage in consumption, creation, and celebration of arts and culture. The ACSEA team has been striving to develop and manage large scale, interdisciplinary art and cultural events that contribute and elevate the conversations on the state of multiculturalism in the Province of British Columbia. With the two signature annual events in LunarFest and TAIWANfest, ACSEA ensures these two platforms go beyond the Asian communities.
