About this event

2023 Indigenous Research Symposium: Weaving Knowledge, World Views, and Research Methods

Join us for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affair's 2023 Indigenous Research Symposium, a virtual gathering for the Ontario Public Service to explore the rich tapestry of Indigenous knowledge and research. This exciting event will take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

The symposium aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among Indigenous researchers, scholars, and knowledge keepers. Together, we will delve into a wide range of topics including:

• Exploring Indigenous worldviews

• Learning about Traditional Knowledge

• Understanding Indigenous research methodologies in the agriculture and food area, and

• Gaining knowledge

We hope this Indigenous research knowledge sharing symposium provides opportunities to gain a greater understanding of Indigenous worldviews, knowledge systems and research approaches. See DRAFT agenda for tentative speaking topics to be confirmed.

Let's come together to celebrate and honor the diverse perspectives and wisdom of Indigenous cultures and insights about research methods. Join us at the 2023 Indigenous Research Symposium and be part of this discussion and knowledge sharing opportunity.

This symposium builds on the Indigenous Research Symposium: Weaving Knowledge event held in March 2022.
