As part of our mission to advance women in business, OWIT Ottawa mentorship program is designed to connect young women professionals in international trade or considering a career in international business and trade, with established professionals who are members of various organizations with links to international business and trade.

THIS IS A TEN- MONTH PROGRAM, RUNNING FROM SEPTEMBER TO JUNE, MADE UP OF FOUR STAGES WITH GROUP AND ONE- ON- ONE ACTIVITIES.

Frequently asked questions

How will the mentorship program run?

The mentors and mentees will first meet each other at the Sept Mix and Mingle or a following event. Then each mentor and mentee team will arrange between them when and how they will meet, at their convenience.

How will the mentors and mentees be matched up?

Our mentorship committee will review the applications and match mentees with mentors according to interests, goals and experience.

Are there other events or activities?

OWIT Ottawa puts on a number of events over the year, as does its sister OWIT chapters and OWIT International, both in person and online. Mentorship participants are expected to participate in several OWIT events over the course of the program.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be members of OWIT Ottawa in order to apply to the mentorship program.

How much does it cost?

The mentorship program is free, however applicants must be members of OWIT Ottawa in order to apply. General Membership: $90.00; Student Membership: $50.00

Is there a limit to the number of mentees?

Yes. Due to limitations in capacity of our volunteers and mentors, there is a limit to how many mentees we can take on in a given year.
