About this event

Housing co-ops are much more than bricks-and-mortar or a roof over your head. They are made up of people who form a close bond of association and work together to provide safe, secure and affordable homes for their members.

Each co-op is an independent organization that is governed by their members. They are all uniquely different but there are some basic fundamental concepts that are similar.

The Information Session will help you learn the following:

  • What a co-operative is?
  • How housing co-ops work?
  • The power of volunteerism.
  • The benefits of membership.
  • The responsibilities of membership.
  • How to apply for membership?
  • Is co-operative living right for you?

Co-ops are communities in the truest sense of the word and they welcome all those who have a co-operative spirit and are willing to make a commitment to the values and principles of the Canadian Co-operative Housing movement.
