What are Tribute Flags?

The tradition of Tribute Flags began with the first Survivors at the Summit when a group of survivors took three days to hike to the top of King's Peak, carrying heavy bundles of flags in their packs that were unfurled and displayed at the summit. Each flag bears a message of love, hope, honor or remembrance. The journey to the summit with their flags was a means of reaching new heights of resilience, despite a cancer diagnosis. Through the Why I Climb Challenge, we continue the tradition of summiting with Tribute Flags to honor cancer survivors and to show the triumph of the human spirit against all odds.

Join the Why I Climb Challenge to start your climb now. Be sure to make a donation of $25 or more to receive your own Tribute Flags to carry to your own Summit, either before or on the day of Survivorsa the Summit!

How can I get my own Tribute Flags?

Tribute Flags are available for a minimum donation of $25 per single flag or $200 for10 flags. Please visit the Why I Climb Challenge page, click "Donate", choose your amount, provide a brief message about your "Why" and choose the "Survivor Wellness" team to support.
