23 September 2018 OSA Operational Pistol Training Practice

OSA Pistol practices are a series of events for the operational/duty style pistol.Over the season, the pistol practices develop your skills and your confidence for operations and competition. You'll become proficient in pistol handling and marksmanship.

The practice is open to OSA members, OSA affiliate members and guests who are qualified with the pistol and who are holster-qualified. You'll need an operational-style pistol with any sights and an operational-style holster with at least level 1 retention. Also required, basic shooting gear (functional electronic hearing protection, safety glasses, magazine pouches, etc.), and at least five magazines. Optical sight allowed. Ammunition must be proven safe in your pistol; you'll need about 400-500 rounds.

The focus of the practice will be on work-ups to develop the accuracy, speed, and handling required for the operational pistol matches. You can download the match descriptions at http://www.osacanada.ca/eventsmain.htm.

$50.00 for non-members. $25.00 off for OSA members (use Promotional Code osamember) and $25 off for OSA affiliate members (use Promotional Code osaaffiliate). When you check in on the day, you'll be asked for proof of membership. You'll also be required to sign a liability waiver.

Check in between 0800 and 0830. Mandatory safety briefing starts at 0845. If you are not present for the safety briefing, you will not be able to participate.

If you haven't been to an OSA event before, email lindamilcun@gmail.com for detailed instructions. You must have shooter's liability insurance to enter our facility; i.e., you must be a member of the CFI, CSSA, NFA or OFAH. You must be fluent in English to participate in any OSA event.
