As a participant, you will experience the rollercoaster of highs and lows that are part of everyday startup life, all in just 24 hours!

What... 24 Hour Startup | AGTECH brings together the best and brightest in agriculture, technology, and business from across the country to pitch ideas, form teams, and build a minimum viable product (MVP) in just 24 hours – and possibly create the next big agtech startup to come from Canada! This diverse group will converge at Canada’s Farm Show to build a solution for the future of ag. After 24 hours, teams will pitch to a panel of judges for a chance to win cash prizes!
Where... Canada's Farm Show
When... Taking place June 17 + 18 - The event is called 24 Hour Startup — you can stay up all night, however, you will be asked to leave the event space after 10pm and return to your accommodations/home for the night. The doors will re-open at 7:00am for you to join your team and continue working until the finale.

Agriculture is one of the most innovative industries. 24 Hour Startup | AGTECH was created to connect innovators with the designers, developers, and entrepreneurs that are crucial to bringing an idea to life. The need and opportunity for innovation in the agriculture industry continues to grow as the demand for feeding increases.

How...
Connect — Meet other motivated individuals in the industry, expand your network, and maybe even meet your next co-founder or mentor! It’s amazing to see not only the products but the relationships that come from this event each year!
Ideate — Take that idea you’ve kept sidelined and bring it to life! Don’t have an idea? Join a team.
Build — You can only learn so much from reading and talking about entrepreneurship – the best way to learn is by doing it!
Pitch — Teams pitch to a panel of expert judges and see if their startup might survive beyond the weekend!

Frequently asked questions
No, but we encourage it! The more ideas that are brought to the competition, the better. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to explain your idea to all of the participants BEFORE forming teams. Teams will be formed through a voting process. The most popular ideas will be selected.
No. Everyone who attends the event as an attendee is expected to participate on a team -- but the teams aren’t formed until Monday night. You will have the opportunity to vote on the business idea that you want to work on.
Of course! Please keep in mind, that all ideas submitted in the competition MUST BE NEW + NOVEL.
Everyone who is registered is expected to participate for the Monday night and the full day Tuesday. It’s important that we ensure all participants are committed to the process and can rely on one another. Your expertise is very much valued throughout the entire competition.
You can change your mind when it comes down to voting on business ideas! You may hear another idea that stands out to you!
Ideally, you are shooting to build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), which will include customer validation, execution & design, and business model. For your 3 minute finale pitch, you will be expected to have slide decks, mockups, and demos.

There is no guarantee that you will end up on the same team as your friend(s), it all comes down to team formation where votes and participant types are taken into consideration. All participants must register individually.
