Join Soeela on Thursday May 16th at 7 PM for a 1-hour online session discussing the use of sound and music as tools for self-development, community wellness, and personal healing. Learn about the science of sound, how sound waves permeate the body, and the benefits that music has on the brain, body, and emotions. In this session you will get an understanding of specific approaches, techniques, community programs, and some musical instruments used by Soeela during her sound journeys and healing practices.

Soeela is a multidisciplinary artist creating immersive sound experiences for deep relaxation. She has lived around the globe including Hawai’i, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Mexico to advance her learnings in music, wisdom traditions, healing and wellness. Soeela’s unique approach to sound intuitively merges a variety of therapeutic instruments such as singing bowls, quartzophone, Japanese gong, handpan, guitar, koshi chimes, and voice. She sings in multiple languages and shares meaningful songs from around the world. Soeela curates community-based events in various settings - from intimate spaces, to large private corporate events, traditional ceremonies, and outdoor events immersed in nature’s harmonious surroundings.

What is MUSIC CARE?

Music care is the intentional use of music by anyone to improve health and well-being. The music care approach promotes the application of sound and music to be used in formal health care settings and community or home-based contexts. Music is integral to person-centred care through integration into daily routines and practice. Music care is inclusive, offering a variety of delivery domains and a means for both intercultural and intergenerational connection. Music care can be implemented by all caregivers regardless of music ability. The intentional use of music humanizes care, deepens relationships, and enhances the care experience.
