The PGI for Literacy is a national initiative founded by the late Peter Gzowski. Literacy Haida Gwaii is honored to be one of 12 selected PGIs across Canada, and is the only PGI host site in British Columbia. All proceeds will help fund literacy programs on Haida Gwaii.

This year's PGI theme is The Power of Stories. Sharing stories is the best way to teach and understand ourselves. Margriet Ruurs, author of several award-winning children's books, Juno award singer-songwriter Barney Bentall and Haida singer and storyteller Kung Jaadee will share with us their inspirations for stories and how they collect and retell stories in their respective fields.

Dinner prepared by our beloved Haida chef Roberta Olson (Keenawaii) starts 5:30PM; adult learner award ceremony & concert start 7:00PM

All proceeds for our PGI to help provide free literacy support for islanders on Haida Gwaii.
