Event Information
About this Event
This workshop is designed to give artists at any skill level looking to play in front of the camera an introduction to the world of screen acting.
In this workshop, we will cover:
- Preparation work (script break-down and auditions)
- Studio vs location work
- The moments before your take
- The take (close-ups, continuity, being spontaneous, voice, sound, lighting, and blocking)
- Character
- Set etiquette
- Understanding what directors want
With the use of cameras, markers, apple-boxes, mic-booms, slates, and lighting, we will look at various on-set scenarios, as well as live on-screen examples to show the differences in performing styles from stage to screen.
This workshop will not get you to Hollywood. It will not make you a star, but it will set you on a fun-filled film making journey. Let’s make some magic!
