Advances in the Treatment of Anxiety: A TRAINING FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Anxiety disorders affects an estimated 3 million Canadians (12%) aged 18 years and older and represents the most significant reason why people will seek psychological counselling from a health professional. People with anxiety disorders experience excessive and persistent feelings of nervousness, stress and fear which leads to avoidance as well as health and social and issues. Their daily lives are greatly impacted, and their quality of life is significantly reduced.
Recent advances in neuroscience and mind-body research have provided new, exciting approaches to support health professionals in the treatment of anxiety.
This training will introduce participants to innovative, practical clinical tools, effective strategies and an integrative clinical approach. These tools are derived from Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt therapy, Holistic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness Meditation, and other disciplines.
Participants will learn the how and why these techniques work and get a chance to practice them. This training is reserved for psychologists, psychotherapists and health professionals.
This Course is accredited by the OPQ and offers 14 Continued Education credits for psychologists and psychotherapists.
