Description

Genome Canada is launching a national research funding initiative called ‘Large Scale Applied Research Program 2015: Natural Resources and the Environment: Sector Challenges – Genomic Solutions’ (2015 LSARP). 2015 LSARP aims to support applied genomics research that address challenges and opportunities in Canada’s natural resources, thereby contributing to the Canadian bio-economy and the wellbeing of Canadians.

The workshop, organized by Canada's Genomic Enterprise and the Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada (PTAC), will bring together key end users and partners for potential research projects; inform them about opportunities for collaboration; and solicit interest in the 2015 LSARP initiative.

The keynote presentation will be provided by Dan Wicklum, Chief Executive Officer, COSIA, titled “Collaboration and innovation in the oil sands: past, present and future”.

We have negotiated a preferred rate and room block reservation with Hotel Arts if you are travelling from outside Calgary. The group name is under "Genome Alberta" and the room rate is $229.00/night. You are responsible for making your own reservation by May 22, 2015 with Hotel Arts by calling 403-266-4611.

We will accept a limited number of registrations (100) based on a first-come, first-served basis; therefore, please register early. In addition, there are limited registrations available for 'Academic - Project Support' spots; the purpose is to engage industry and find industry partners and therefore we are providing preferential access to industry over additional academic participants. Please consider this during your registration. As the event fills, this attendance option may be deleted and only additional 'Academic Project Leads/Presenters' will be invited.
