What You Can Expect
The lesson will begin with a short dryland session covering water safety, equipment knowledge, and outfitting. Once on the water, the instructor will cover basic strokes and then take participants on a short paddle. The remainder of the morning will be spent paddling and getting comfortable in the boats. The session will end with games to which participants can apply their newly acquired skills!
What's Included
- 1:8 instructor to student ratio
- Paddling equipment (boats, paddleboards, paddles, PFD's)
Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment and PFD. - Wetsuits and splash tops (if air temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius)
What You Should Bring
- Clothes to wear underneath a wetsuit (base layers like wool or fleece, NO COTTON) OR, weather appropriate clothing if not wearing a wetsuit.
- Swimsuit (boardshorts and/or a rash guard are a great idea for comfort)
- Footwear that can get wet
- A towel and dry change of clothes
- Lunch, and/or snacks, water
- Sun protection (hat and/or sunscreen)
- Any personal medications
- Waterproof camera (optional)
Waiver and Participant Information Policy:
Guardians will be required to sign a physical waiver and to provide emergency contact information and pertinent medical history prior to participant(s) being granted course access!
Camp Cancellation Policy:
Aquabatics Calgary requires a minimum of 5 participants to run this course.
Registration details will be provided to Aquabatics 7 days prior to the course start date. A decision will be made at that time regarding cancellation.
Aquabatics Calgary reserves the right to cancel or reschedule if weather conditions, water levels, or any other unforeseen circumstances impede course execution. In this case, we will reschedule or refund free of charge.
Participant Cancellations:
Participants may reschedule or receive a refund (less Eventbrite service fees) up to 48 hours prior to course start date(s)
Refunds will not be issued to for cancellations less than 48 hours prior to the course start date!
