About this event

    Welcome to Artlette;r Circle

A gathering that gives time and recognition to the demands of writing and creativity.

For centuries and across all regions, cultures, and societies; humans have attributed to the circle notions of power, unity, wholeness, infinity, enlightenment, and perfection.

Humans have applied this natural shape to countless creations and initiatives. Today, Artlette;r Circle comes to help emerging writers find and carve space for their expression.

Join us every week to create and write. Whether you are a poet, a novelist, an essayist, or a wild card immersed in the world of words, this is a space for you.

Allow me to remind you that if you put words on paper, a canvas or a digital doc–YOU ARE A WRITER!

We will meet every week to let our art flow. Week after week, Artlette;r Circle will open a session for writers of all genres and languages to work on their creations at any stage of development (brainstorming, plotting, first draft, revision, editing, etc.)

During the 1-hour meeting, we will share silent writing time, supply writing prompts for those interested, and provide writing-related support.

Please bring your writing instruments—pen and paper, laptop, and/or other electronic devices.

Join us and spread the word.

P S: Can't make it Monday? Sherwood Park is a bit far? Join us on one of Artlette;r Circle Online Sessions or Artlette;r Circle | Emerging Writers Gathering (Edmonton)

    Frequently asked questions

    What does Artlette;r mean?

Artlette is a tribute to the name Arlette, a primarily French female name which means noble warrior and it's the title of a Canadian political satire film that portrays an unconventional approach to reinvigorating the public's engagement with arts and culture. In our case, Art and Letter.

    What about ";"

Semicolons are punctuation marks that connect independent clauses and show a closer relationship between them, more than what a period would do. The ; in Artlette;r connects the warrior concept to "Letter", the power of the word.
