About this event
Are you an autistic youth between the ages of 18-30? Do you know an autistic youth or young adult in those ages who is currently unemployed and in search of an exciting career in the emerging field of data processing and analysis?
Supporting the development of inclusive and accessible workplaces, ACT! works to remove barriers for Autistic Youth (18-30) to become employed in the tech sector. Successful applicants will be enrolled in a fully funded 6-month program that will allow them to fulfil technology-focused roles within the digital economy for a variety of businesses including those in education, finance, government, artificial intelligence, or health business. Participants will also receive two months of paid work experience with an employer-partner trained to use the supports provided by the project.
Learn about the curriculum and training itself, learn about the supports provided, including the ACT! Centre, Career Coaching, and RoboCoach, a new assistive technology developed by Technology North. You'll also learn about the research aspect of this project that looks to understand the barriers and impediments Autistic youth face in today's economy. There will be ample time at the end of the presentation for questions and answers.
