Departing from Orangeville, the Santa Train is an awesome event aboard the Orangeville Brampton Railway.  Experience the passing countryside from the comfort of heated, picture-window coaches, with freshly-baked gingerbread cookies & hot chocolate, live musical entertainment and a visit from Santa!

Autism Ontario has requested 2 whole train cars just for our families.

On the day of the event, you will have to arrive between 12noon and 1230pm to pick up your tickets, at the train station, from a parent volunteer for Autism Ontario.  You will receive a confirmation email before the event with details of specifically where at the train station to pick the tickets.

**The parent volunteer will stop giving out tickets promptly at 1245pm. No exceptions**

**Please arrive between 12nooon and 1230pm and expect line ups**

**The train will depart promptly 1:15pm, and cannot be held for latecomers**

What happens during The Santa Train trip?
During the trip, onboard attendants will serve freshly-baked gingerbread cookies (peanut-free) and hot chocolate, strolling musicians will lead the passengers in carol singing, and Santa will visit each child at their seat to talk with them, and will give them a small gift and pose for pictures.

How do we purchase tickets?
Tickets for the Autism Ontario car must be purchased securely online at on this page.  Each passenger, 1 year of age and older, will require a ticket to board the train.  Infants under 1 year of age do not require a ticket if seated on an adult lap.  Infant carriers (but not car seats) may be brought aboard the train if you have purchased a ticket for the seat.

Can we purchase tickets the day of the trip?
No.  Tickets must be purchased in advance. Due to the limited number of seats Autism Ontario is able to offer, the Santa Train, will surely sell out prior to the dates of the trip.

How do we receive our tickets?
On the day of the event, you will have to arrive between 12noon and 1230pm to pick up your tickets, at the train station, from a parent volunteer for Autism Ontario.  You will receive an email before the event date with details of specifically where, at the train station, to pick the tickets.

Does the Santa Train run if it snows or rains?
The Santa Train operates regardless of weather conditions.

How long is the trip?
Each trip aboard the Santa Train is approximately 70 minutes and you will be dropped off where you boarded the train.

How is seating arranged?
Seating is in rows of four, separated by a centre aisle, with two rows facing each other. Autism Ontario has requested two private train cars.

Is the train heated?
Of course! However, we do suggest that you dress appropriately for the weather on the day of your trip.

Are there washrooms on the train?
The coach has two washrooms which may be used at any time during the trip.

General FAQ

1.) Do I need to print out ticket or email confirmations to attend this event?

For most of our events there is no need to print anything, unless the event specifies otherwise.  When you arrive at the event, you will have to check in at the registration desk.  You will be asked for your name and how many people are attending with you.  That's all.

2.) Do I need to bring proof of diagnosis?
No, not needed.  Again, just check in at the registration desk and enjoy the event.

3.) Is there a cost to attend this event?
Most of our events are free of charge because the cost is covered by Autism Ontario's Potential Programme, in partnership with Ontario’s Ministry of Children & Youth Services and the local Autism Ontario Chapter.  If there is a cost, you will see it on the registration page when you select how many ticket you want.

4.) Do I need to be a member of Autism Ontario to register and participate?
No.  While membership does provide other great opportunities, events provided through Autism Ontario’s Potential Programme are open to all families of children with ASD, under the age of 18, who reside in Ontario.
