Who is the intended audience for this event?

Do you love dancing and/or Latin music? Are you ready to meet new people and be part of a welcoming community that celebrates diversity? Then this is the night for you!

What to bring for footwear?

Latin Dance shoes are recommended, but not required. Any clean pair of shoes that is comfortable and not grippy on the floor will work.

For newer dancers, we recommend wearing comfortable flats with a non-sticky sole that you can dance in for multiple hours (Fuego sneakers, Taygra sneakers, leather soled ballet flats, suede soled jazz shoes, and Toms are all great options).

What to wear?

You can choose to dress up or not, but make sure what you wear is comfortable enough to dance in (not too tight, not too short, not too warm, allows you to move your arms, hips, torso, and rest of the body easily, not a tripping hazard, etc.).

Do I need to bring a partner?

You do not need to register with a partner as we will rotate partners throughout.

Can we book private lessons?

Our instructors have extremely limited availability for privates. Payment is required in advance to secure your time slot. Email yeg.dancer.events@gmail.com for more information.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring a partner?

We rotate partners throughout the dance class and the social dancing portion, so we have lots of singles that come out to the events and you do not need to come with a partner.

What’s the dress code?

You can choose to dress up or not, but make sure what you wear is comfortable enough to dance in (not too tight, not too short, not too warm, allows you to move your arms, hips, torso, and rest of the body easily, not a tripping hazard, etc.).

What kind of shoes should I wear?

Latin Dance shoes are recommended, but not required. Any clean pair of shoes that is comfortable and not grippy on the floor will work (dress shoes, Fuego sneakers, Taygra sneakers, leather soled ballet flats, suede soled jazz shoes, Toms, etc.). No stilettos please! They put marks in the floor.

Is there a coat check available?

There is a designated area for outdoor shoes as well as a rack to hang your coats. Dancers usually place their personal items such as purses in the lounge areas throughout the private club space.

Where can I park?

There is some free and paid street parking within walking distance of the venue.

Feeling a little nervous…

No pressure! We’re very beginner-friendly, and generally you’ll find yourself among lots of other new people.

How do I stay informed?

Our YEG Dancer Public Events Insider Facebook group has a listing of upcoming Latin dance events and we also use the Facebook group's chats for more time sensitive announcements.
