Philip Barrar, founder & ceo, FutureMoney

Phil Barrar is a serial entrepreneur in the financial technology industry and regularly speaks on the future of finance. He previously served as the CIO at Mogo and founded Moka, a leading consumer FinTech platform both in Canada and the EU. Phil successfully led Moka to over one million downloads, $17M venture funding, and an acquisition by Mogo. He is continuing his pursuit of building financial inclusive products through his latest FinTech Venture.

Jasmin brings to the table both in-depth financial and consulting expertise. She is an astute financial services executive that for the past 20 years has worked extensively with many of Canada’s best and brightest companies, especially those in emerging technology, innovation, and knowledge based industries. Jasmin understands the power of leveraging the financial community, and the technology ecosystem to build globally scalable Canadian companies. Jasmin is also an experienced board member and advisor, and currently sits on the board of numerous companies including Elevate Export Finance, Hackergal, The Canada Arab Business Council etc.

Joseph Morrissey, senior relationship manager, of Technology and Media, Export Development Canada

Over his career, Joseph has been particularly interested in supporting Canadian companies as they seek financing to grow abroad. Joseph spent 10-years in commercial lending at CIBC, where he held both relationship and risk management positions. Over that time, Joseph became intimately familiar with the obstacles growing companies encounter when seeking financing. In 2022, Joseph joined EDC's Technology Team where he now specifically focuses on helping Canadian technology companies gain access to financing to grow abroad. Such financing arrives through partnering with both Canadian technology companies and their banks to provide greater access to credit, insurance and equity investment.
