Welcome to the BFI Virtual Expo!

We are excited to have Dr. Meghan Azad presenting some of her current research! Dr. Azad was recently awarded the 2024 Canada Gairdner Momentum Award for research on understanding how human breast milk contributes to shaping the infant microbiome and lifelong health!

This virtual event is a must-attend for health care professionals, parents and anyone interested in learning more about:

  • How breastfeeding and human milk influences the infant immune system.
  • Evidence from the CHILD Cohort Study on breast(milk) feeding and infant allergy & asthma.
  • Understanding the role of the infant microbiome in the relationships between infant feeding, immunity and health.

Following Dr. Azad’s presentation there will be a BFI poster presentation, spotlighting some of the excellent work being done by facilities in Ontario.
