<h2>The BIGgest Business-Tech Quantum Computing Competition</h2>The BIG Quantum Hackathon, organized by <a href="https://quebec-quantique.ca/en/bighackathon/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Québec Quantique</a> in association with <a href="https://quantx.fr/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">QuantX</a>, aims to gather the whole value chain of Quantum Computing and demonstrate its ability to address the real-life challenges from the business world. During the event, various companies from the industrial and financial sectors, investors and consulting groups will join forces with quantum computing specialists from academia and quantum hardware and software providers to approach a set of longstanding problems from different application domains. 1. Technical Phase (June 20-21 2022)During phase 1, the technical teams solve use-cases in the form of challenges provided by ten industrial and financial companies in various application domains (chemistry, optimization, machine learning, linear algebra, energy, and others) on the platforms provided by Quantum software and hardware providers. The best technical solutions are selected by experts and sent to Phase Two of the competition.The technical teams whose solutions are considered by the experts as the most advanced are requested to assign one team representative for the 2-day Business Phase to transition the technical solution and consult the business teams.

2. Business Phase (June 22-23 2022)During phase 2, teams of VC/PE investors, consulting groups, MBA and executive MBA students will take on the best technical solutions from phase 1 to analyze their viability in the context of businesses of the Industrial Companies, who initially provided the cases, thus gathering all the main players of QC ecosystems. These business cases will be presented to a jury. The best technical solution with the strongest business case will be crowned victor.The 2-day technical phase of the Hackathon requires a physical presence of the teams in Montreal. The awards ceremony followed by a cocktail party (by invitation only) will be held on June 23rd, 2022.All the public health measures related to the current situation will be enforced. The organizers are committed to ensuring the safety requirements for the physical presence of representatives of quantum providers, industrial companies, jury members, and technical and business teams during the 4 days of the Hackathon. The travel and accommodation expenses are not covered by the organizers. The number of participants is limited. Additional information will follow.
