Description

It's time to come together and break the world record for the largest cornhole tournament in the world. Currently, the Guiness Book Of World Records has recorded that the largest tournament ever to be recorded had just over 320 players. Together ... we can beat that! More than just a world record, this event will draw the community together for a fun filled evening of competitive cornhole ... for all ages, and all skill levels.

We are aiming for 500+ players. Nobody will get knocked out until we are down to the playoffs at the end. We will start off the evening with everyone simulaneously involved in a SINGLES style, SINGLE KNOCKOUT tournament. That means that after the first round of games, 500 will become 250 ... then 250 will become 125, etc. However, if you lose (and 99.9% of people eventually will lose), you will advance to the backside, where everyone starts with 10 chips in their pocket. Every game, you'll get a new partner. If you win, earn a chip from the losers. If you lose, give a chip to the winners. Then, get another partner, start up another game, and earn your chips one game at a time. We'll try to pair up those with a low chip count with those with a high chip count in order to keep the backside games balanced and competitive.

When the knockout tournament gets down to the final four, we'll tally up the chips to set up a few rousing matches for the top four teams of the backside. This is when things start to get exciting. Before we go into the final matches, we'll let the best cornhole players on the field take a stab at several other cornhole world records, including longest cornhole shot, most cornholes in the hole in one minute, and more. Whether you win or lose, you will be a part of world history as a bonified player in the largest recorded cornhole tournament in the history of the world.

The Cause

The most important cause of this event is our community. To break this world record, we need each other. In the process, we'll be raising funds and awareness for several organizations that specifically dedicate themselves to improving the rough edges of our community, as well as around the world. Stay tuned for more information.

FAQs

Can I buy one of the world record breaking cornhole sets?

Yes, we are planning to make more than 100 custom, special edition cornhole boards specifically for this event. You can take home a piece of history and have a backyard game that will bring endless fun to your friends and family. Professional quality boards with professional quality bags (used ONE NIGHT, in the reord breaking tournament) will be available for $300 each. If you plan to host your own tournaments in the future, we recommend you have one cornhole set for every six people involved.

Can I buy a T-Shirt and hat?

Yes, and yes! If you are going to break a world-record, you are going to want something to remember this event. We'll have T-Shirts and hats available at the event, but it is best if you pre-order to guarantee that we don't run out of stock.

How can I volunteer?

We will definitely need help to pull of this event. For now, you can register for free as a volunteer, and then we'll follow up with you to make sure you are in the right place. If you plan to volunteer AND play in the tournament, you still need a tournament ticket. If you are volunteering and not playing in the tournament, there is no charge.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Any age can play, as long as you are able to throw a cornhole bag at least 10 feet, and you can function independantly in a crowd of 500 people. Suggested minimum age is 10 years old.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Look for signs and parking attendants for onsite parking when you arrive.

Will there be food?

Your ticket includes a hot dog, chips, corn on the cob and water. There will be a food truck serving milk shakes on site for additional cost.

What can I bring into the event?

The only thing you really need is a lawn chair, if you need a place to recharge, or you want to watch a few games along the way.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Feel free to email ryan@praisecharts.com with questions.

What's the refund policy?

Full money back within 7 days.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is preferrable to bring your printed ticket, or your mobile phone ticket. We need to scan in your registration in order to document your presence for the world record.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, if you create an account with Eventbrite, you can come back and update your registration within 7 days of the event.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, as long as we have the name of the person actually playing on the day of the event.
