À propos de cet événement

Reina Sakao known as Madame Matcha from Montreal will be in Ottawa on April 14th to offer a special Matcha workshop at Moo Shu Ice Cream & Kitchen!

Reina is a fourth generation member of a tea house family in Japan. In addition to importing a collection of tea to distribute to coffee shops, stores, restaurants and individual clients in Canada, she also offers Japanese tea ceremony as well as tea workshops.

Moo Shu Ice Cream is a from-scratch ice cream shop in Ottawa, ON. Owned and operated by Liz Mok, the shop features ice cream from a wide variety of inspirations, including local ingredients and East-Asian flavours.

During this Matcha workshop, you will:

  • Learn about Matcha ( what matcha is, the production process, how to choose/prepare/conserve matcha daily)
  • Learn how to propery make your own matcha. (In a traditional way)
  • Enjoy matcha with Japanese traditional candy 'Wasanbon'

Come try 4 types of Matcha as well as Japanese traditional candy (it is plant based, gluten-free!) It is a great opportunity to learn both about Matcha and Japanese culture. Purchase of matcha products is available after the workshop. Follow SAKAO tea on Instagram

The workshop will take place in Moo Shu Ice Cream's dedicated workshop space adjacent to their production kitchen at 464 Bank St. To stay up to date on workshops hosted in this space, join their mailing list here.
