This Black History Month, Historica Canada is proud to host a special evening of storytelling and music in celebration of Canadian Black History: Black Canadian Trailblazers - Then and Now. To ring in Canada’s sesquicentennial year, we will celebrate the achievements of historical and contemporary Black Canadians who have made significant contributions to Canada.
Join us as some of Canada’s most beloved local luminaries and leaders share stories about their personal and professional journeys while acknowledging the work and legacy of other trailblazing Black Canadians who came before them. From personal anecdotes of heroes and mentors to historical accounts honouring the rich legacy of crusaders for change in this country, join us for an unforgettable evening of cocktails, canapés and powerful storytelling!
Co-hosted by City News Anchor Tammie Sutherland, and CBC Reporter Dwight Drummond the night will feature a stellar line up of Black Canadians who will each share a story:

Special performances by Akwaba Cultural Exchange - African drumming group, Poet Nadine Williams, and a surprise special performance
