Join us alongside Janice Mason Steeves as she presents information on her recent book Bloom: On Becoming An Artist Later in Life. In this talk, she will describe her background and journey into how she became the artist and writer she is today.
In Janice's words:
"My book, Bloom: On Becoming An Artist Later in Life is a book about older people turning to art later in their lives, often when they retire. Many wanted to become artists when they were young but were discouraged by parents or teachers. But that creative desire lay dormant in their hearts, waiting for the right time. At this stage of life, likely with some steady income from a pension, many come to art searching for meaning, looking for ways to continue learning and growing."
This workshop is part of Gather at the Gallery for seniors -- a bi-weekly event presented specifically for the 55+ community. Each month there will be opportunities to meet artists, preview new exhibitions or express your own creativity.
