About this event

People belong to many types of communities, including family, friends & neighbours, culture & spiritual connections, and the resources and services nearby. People's communities can plan an important role in their health. In Alberta, access to healthcare varies across communities.

GOAL: CSCN is inviting people aged 18 years and older within newcomer communities across Alberta to understand factors that affect the access of newcomers to cancer diagnosis resources. The conversations will be in-person or virtually, one-to-one, or group settings, dependent on participant preference. Participation is completely voluntary and their decision to participate or not will not affect current or future services.

You are invited to participate in this research study, if:

1. You have been in Canada for less than 7 years

2. You or a loved one/ friend has had a cancer diagnosis in Alberta.

If you choose to participate you will be asked to share your thoughts and experiences of health care and within your community in general.

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
