Who should participate in this course?

Building Resilience is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about mental health, develop coping skills, and has a desire to improve their own life, or the lives of others. It requires no previous training or expertise.

You will learn about different mental health diagnoses and treatments; but what really sets this course apart is that you will be taught coping skills and exercises directly from a Registered Psychotherapist. The practical skills you will learn are all evidence based and proven to foster

positive mental wellbeing.

When/Where is the course?

Building Resilience is a six-week livestream and interactive course that is offered three times a year (spring, fall and winter). Each week you will meet and explore the weekly topic, along with engaging in discussion and experiential learning to help you connect theories and knowledge learned in the course to real-world situations.

What will I learn?

Over the course of the six weeks, participants will explore topics such as:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Harm and Suicide

Explore the different therapeutic modalities, coping skills and exercises, and how each approach can be applied to support mental wellbeing. Learn about the different mental health struggles; symptoms, risk factors, treatments, and how to support yourself or someone else who is struggling with their mental health.

*Each topic is explored from a biopsychosocial and Christian perspective.

Additionally, you have the choice to receive an free extensive 90-page pdf workbook or buy a hard copy workbook, which includes weekly summaries of each topic, relevant scripture verses, reflection questions, and a step-by-step guide.
