About this event

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has had devastating global impacts, unprecedented in recent times. As a leader, you are required to navigate uncharted territory, while at the same time, coping with your own hardship and distress. Ultimately leaders are expected to perform at their best, under extreme circumstances; resilience is critical to success.

While early research focused on the role of genetics, we now know that resilience can be learned and practiced. Building Resilience is a leadership session designed to:

  • Increase your understanding of resilience and its foundational building blocks
  • Strengthen your capacity for self-awareness
  • Explore how to show up as a leader in times of crisis

Through individual, plenary and break-out modules, you will explore topics such as:

  • Emotion and accessing the information it holds
  • Reframing mindset to enable behaviour
  • Connecting with values to access your most authentic / powerful self

Deann Young, VP People Advisory

Certified Professional Co-Active Coach | Culture & Change Strategist

Since 2000, my career has largely focused on people and change – enabling people to drive change and/or personally move through change. As a trusted advisor to senior and middle management, I am known for my ability to implement change with people. As a professional coach, I work with high-performing and high-potential individuals and teams as they explore professional and/or personal goals in an objective, risk-free environment. I see my client’s true (strongest) self and advocate for that person throughout the coaching relationship and beyond. I focus on building resonance - full alignment with values, with a sense of harmony.

You may benefit from coaching if you:

  • Seek clarity on goals and how to achieve them
  • Recently accepted a management / leadership position or “stretch role”

Your team may benefit from coaching designed to:

  • Increase alignment on core values, vision and desired behaviours
  • Strengthen group dynamics and leadership capabilities
