About this event

Guess Who's Coming To Town,

CGLCC in collaboration with the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick will be hosting a business networking lunch for 2SLGBTQI+ & allied businesses. Drop in for a drink and some light snacks, network with your fellow local businesses, learn more about CGLCC and how we can support your business, and drive economic development in the local 2SLGBTQI+ community.

** All attendees must agree to CGLCC's safe policy (outlined below) upon registration.

Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space, free of discrimination or harassment, for everyone regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, national origin, ethnic origin, religion or religious belief.

Our events are convened for the purposes of professional development in the spirit of free discussion and free expression in an environment in which diverse attendees may learn, network and enjoy the company of colleagues in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment of our attendees in any form. Participants violating this policy may be expelled from the event, without a refund (when applicable), at the discretion of CGLCC, venue, or partnering organization staff.

Not sure what an ally is?

An ally is someone who stands up for, supports and encourages the people around them. It’s a term that gets used a lot in the 2SLGBTQI+ community. In this case it refers to someone who is heterosexual and/or cisgender, but who tries to make the world a better place for people who identify as LGBTQIA+.

Being an ally means:

  • supporting equal rights for everyone – regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender or religion
  • doing what you can to call out discrimination and to fight for equality
  • trying to make the world a better place for anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ and other diverse groups.

Uncertain if you should join this event?

Our recommendation is to come and meet some diverse people within your community. The best way to strengthen your allyship is to engage with those folks whose live experience may be different from yours. This is a great first step towards driving change in diversifying your local business community.
