Event description

Description

"Untold Stories of the Past 150 Years” is an academic conference hosted byThe Craig Dobbin Chair in Canadian Studies and the Centre for Canadian Studies at Univeristy College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. International delegates will present papers within the interdisciplinary field of Canadian Studies at UCD from April 28-30, 2017.

Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation offers a pivotal moment not only to re-evaluate the dominant narratives that helped to shape Canadian national identity, but also to consider those narratives that, until recently, have been suppressed or held considerably less attention in public forums and debates. With this in mind, The Craig Dobbin Chair in Canadian Studies, Dr. Linda Morra and the Director of the UCD Centre for Canadian Studies, Dr. Paul Halferty, will host a conference on the theme of “Untold Stories of the Past 150 Years.”
