Celebration of Nature: Naturalists as Nature Advocates

Nature NS member group the Blomidon Naturalist Society will host the event locally in the beautiful Annapolis Valley Kentvillie at VCLA ( Valley Community Learning Center) for the weekend of May 24th to May 26th.

The weekend features presentations from local champions of nature such as Nina Newington, and Bob Bancroft. Sunday brings a national perspective on nature advocacy from Emily McMillan, director of Nature Canada.

Beyond presentations, the weekend offers captivating field trips organized by local leaders, exploring places like the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens at Acadia University, the vernal pools at Blomidon Provincial Park, the Healing Forest and Hemlock Ravine. We will feature Morning Birding events, Native plant ID, and stargazing. Join us in exploring the Annapolis Valley's nature while learning to better advocate for its protection.
