Let's get our hands dirty and get inspired! Together we will explore the wonderful world of creativity and imagination by using fun art materials and tools! We will learn all about patterns, textures and colors while getting a little inspiration from the great artists that came before us.

The class will draw inspiration from our unique and vast collection of contemporary ceramic art. A fun and every changing look at various Ceramic artists and their work. Each week a new artist and piece will be discussed. Students will then have the opportunity to learn how to build a piece of their own using a variety of hand-building techniques.

C12 - An Introduction to Drawing & Painting (ages 6 - 8)

Your child will learn how to use the essential tools, materials and techniques to create vibrant pictures. We will look to the world around us and our imaginations for inspiration. During the process of experimenting with a variety of different paint media each student will develop their own style.

T11 - Sculpture Now (ages 12+)

Time: 10am - noon

For the teen who thinks in 3D - Sculpture Now. A rare opportunity to build a landscape or structure with your bare hands using a variety of materials from everyday life. Students will become familiar with basic casting processes, and various methods of construction and assembly. This course will complement an interest in computer generated worlds as students will learn to think, work, and communicate spatially.

T01 - Wheel Throwing & Slab Construction for teens (12+)

Time: 1- 3 pm

Create your own mugs, bowls, plates or sculptures. Enjoy using a variety of techniques to produce both functional and sculptural art work. Students will learn decorating and glazing techniques to produce unique and personal pots. Class is suitable for beginners and seasoned students.

ART MATERIALS for children’s classes are included in the registration fee.

WHAT TO WEAR? Clothing may get messy from the materials used in the class.  Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. 

WHAT TO BRING? Snacks that are nut free.  We appreciate your cooperation!

ALLERGY OR SPECIAL NEEDS? Important - Remember to notify us on your registration form if the student has an allergy, health concern or a learning disability that could impact participation in the class.  We want to ensure the best possible experience.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY Refunds are cheques payable to registrants, subject to the following:

1.     The AGB reserves the right to cancel or combine classes if minimum enrollment is not met.

2.    If a course is cancelled, registrants will be notified up to a week prior to class start.

3.     Requests for refunds must be made in writing to Studio Education Coordinator: Heather@AGB.Life

4.     No refunds will be given after the 2nd week of classes.

5.    Except for courses cancelled by the gallery, all refunds will be subject to a twenty-five dollar administration charge and a pro-rated deduction for classes up to AND including the date of the refund request.

6.    Refunds will be issued within six weeks of the cancellation. 

7.   Save your receipt for tax purposes.

Art Gallery of Burlington
