Event description

Description

Join us for a parent and caregiver roundtable discussion to share your challenges and successes in supporting grieving children and youth in your lives. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the importance and availability of alternative grief resources in Calgary.

Your participation helps shape options in alternative programming development models and builds awareness to continue building an inclusive kids' bereavement community. When we reduce isolation, we encourage a welcoming environment for sharing grief experiences.

Sessions are facilitated by Angela Blenkhorne, founder of Bernie's Buddies, a registered charity helping Calgary's kids live again after loss. Thanks to funding through donations and grants, Bernie's Buddies offers FREE peer support workshops and groups using pet therapy, physical relaxation with mindfulness, and creative activities that empower kids and youth to build skills to navigate their bereavement.

There are dedicated child and teen spaces at Seton Library which youth in your care are welcome to use during our discussion - we will be in Breakout Room 1. Please note children must be supervised while using library facilities.
