About this event

Children's Rights Upfront: Preventing the Recruitment and Use of Children in Violence, is a rare opportunity for public discussion around the complex issue of child soldiers. Omar Khadr and Ishmael Beah will highlight their experience in conflict and why they are passionate about the protection of children.

With remarks from Dr. Shelly Whitman and LGen the Hon. Roméo Dallaire, don’t miss your opportunity to be part of this compelling conversation.

The event coincides with the International Day against the Use of Child Soldiers (Red Hand Day) on February 12. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative’s partnership with Dalhousie University.

Event proceeds will support the Dallaire Initiative and help to continue its work preventing the recruitment and use of child soldiers. The suggested minimum donation is $10.
