The Chronic Pain Consultation Service is happy to continue to provide newly revised Chronic Pain Management Seminars for 2015.
The objectives of this seminar are:
- to define what pain is, review methods of comprehensive pain assessment including the older adult population and patients with cognitive impairment
- complete an overview of non-pharmacological and pharmacological management of chronic non-malignant pain
- address opioid tolerance and addiction
- increase healthcare provider awareness of available resources.
The seminar involves mandatory pre course reading material which will be sent to each participant in advance and an in-class, case-based interactive powerpoint presentation. This seminar is appropriate for any nursing staff , nursing students or any healthcare provider who would like to improve their knowledge regarding chronic pain assessment, management, and resources.
