About Ishita Singla and Madhuban Performing Arts:
Ishita Singla has made her mark as a passionate, self-taught artist and performer, tirelessly promoting South Asian art and heritage. Since April 2016, as the founder and artistic director of Madhuban Performing Arts, she has been seeking opportunities to showcase dancers, musicians, singers, and actors. Madhuban Performing Arts supports and performs for over 75+ cultural organizations, charitable and non-profit initiatives, including past partnerships with organizations like Calgary Pride, Immigrant Services Calgary, TedxYYC, Calgary Surge and more.In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Ishita Singla was recently named Avenue Magazine's Top 40 Under 40, and has also been honoured with the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal amongst several other accolades. You may also be able to spot her appearance in Netflix feature film, Khufiya.
Additionally, in her role as a Senior Communications Officer at CBC Calgary, Ishita demonstrates her commitment to showcasing marginalized perspectives, amplifying important conversations, and fostering cultural awareness on a broader scale. Ishita is an award-winning community leader who demonstrates passion, creativity, and innovation as a strong advocate and ambassador of South Asian culture and arts.
