In partnership with OCAD University's Illustration program, the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers presents the first instalment of the 2019/2020 Illustration Professional Practice Workshop Series.

Darren Booth's workshop Launching Your Illustration Career is an extracurricular workshop open to students and recent graduates. An extension of Kathryn Adams' Illustration Professional Practice course; this workshop is designed for emerging illustrators looking for tips from an experienced industry professional to help get their freelance careers started!

Participants who take this workshop will walk away with skills that will help them establish direction and specific goals when they graduate and enter the illustration industry. These skills can be applied to:

  • self-promotion
  • portfolio development
  • business growth & strategy
  • + more!

You will leave the workshop with a tips worksheet and more.

This afternoon session takes place on Saturday, November 30th from 11:00am – 2:00 pm

Illustrator Darren Booth has collaborated with some of the world’s most well-known brands, such as Coca-Cola, Penguin Random House, McDonalds, Walt Disney, Target, Google, Heineken, and The Royal Canadian Mint. His recognizable painterly-collage style is used on a variety of applications from coins to branding to packaging. Darren graduated from Sheridan College’s Illustration program and has received many of the industry’s most prestigious honours. He is also listed as one of the best 100 illustrators in the world by art book publisher Taschen.
