Join Academy Award winner Dedo Weigert for an intimate masterclass on lighting for film and television. This informative and entertaining technical workshop will include powerpoint, video and live demonstration covering the following topics:

- LED overview
- Efficiency techniques
- Colour spectrum
- Dramatic lighting
- TV studio lighting design
- Portable lighting
- Projection attachments & background imaging
- Light modification tools

This workshop will also include the Canadian premier of LIGHTSTREAM a new “reflective lighting system” by Dedolight: An in depth look at reflective systems design for both Film & Television; how they cheat the square law; how it creatively changes light for both the DP and the actor; a look at parallel light fixtures and beam adapters and how they enhance reflective light.

The workshop will be followed by Q&A and hands on time with the lighting equipment used in the presentation.

Dedo Weigert began working as a freelance cameraman in 1964. After many years experience as a working Director, Producer and Director of Photography on feature films, commercials, documentaries and television series, Dedo began to specialize in high speed cinematography and videography. Dedo Weigert Film GmbH was formed in 1965. Dedotec Munich is a partner company employing specialists in optics, electronics and precision mechanics.

Mr. Weigert holds more than twenty international patents for technical inventions that are today still regarded as state-of-the art including in 2003 his new generation “Double Aspherics 2”. He has been awarded twenty-five international prizes for film and technical development; including an Academy Award (Oscar) for Technical Achievement in 1990, the Cinec Award in 2002, and in 2003 an Emmy for Scientific and Engineering excellence.

This is Dedo’s 3rd visit to Canada and his first presentation in Kingston.
