Come wheel, walk or run and join us in the fight to cure Rett Syndrome on Saturday April 25th, 2020.

About this Event

Hello, and welcome to my capstone project!

You may be wondering what a capstone project is well, a capstone project is a project that allows me to graduate grade 12.

When I found out that our capstone projects could be anything we desired I immediately thought that this would be a great time to bring one of my biggest dreams to life. I have always wanted to plan an event in honour of my Auntie Dena to raise awareness and money for Rett Syndrome.

So what is Rett Syndrome? Rett Syndrome is a rare non-inherited neurological disorder on the X chromosome on the MECP2 gene that primarily affects 10,000 to 15,000 female births of all racial and ethnic groups worldwide. Rett girls are known as silent angels as they are cognitively normal, but are trapped in their body due to apraxia. So, for my Capstone project I will be hosting Dena’s Dream Team Wheel, Walk and Run.

All of the proceeds from this event will go directly to the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association to aid in finding a cure.

We hope to see you there! We will be meeting on the Fraser Academy Sports Pad on Saturday April 25th at 10:00am.

Thank you,

Aryelah, Dena, and all the families and girls affected by Rett Syndrome.
