About this event
The Economic Development Leadership Summit in Maple Ridge will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the ACT Arts Theatre next to City Hall. The event features a keynote address by the Hon. Brenda Bailey, BC Minister of Jobs, Economic Development, and Innovation and includes two panel discussions with top business leaders in the region discussing both national and local contexts and competitiveness with a focus on what this means for Maple Ridge. A light breakfast, and catered lunch will be available during the program. The City’s Innovation Awards and a business showcase will highlight the thriving local community. A business networking event will round off the day following the Summit program.
At the Summit, participants will:
• Identify economic and regional competitiveness opportunities to nurture a strong economy and diversify our tax base in Maple Ridge;
• Build valuable connections and reveal supports identify action plans to ensure growth and retention of local businesses investment;
• Discuss best practices from the business community, the federal, provincial and local government to inform the City’s future economicpolicy development directions.
Attendees will include local, regional, provincial, and federal elected representatives and officials, business and economic leaders, Indigenous partners and members of the local public.
