EMPLOYMENT NOW is an online program that can give you the edge you need to land that job!

  • Our FREE government funded 6-week online workshop and skills training program is specifically designed to help you get hired as an Activity Leader
  • We provide up to 3 weeks of hands-on on-the-job training as an Activity Leader
  • Super fun workplace full of laughter, excitement and enthusiasm
  • Short commute as we have 2 local Clubs in Tsawwassen and Ladner
  • Build skills and get a chance to secure ongoing employment with the opportunity for advancement
  • Receive a cash completion bonus of $300 once you finish the training, plus additional cash bonuses for getting and keeping a job
  • Design a resume and cover letter that gets noticed by employers
  • Master the secrets of successful job interviews resulting in more and better job offers
  • Continue to meet one-on-one with our professionally trained staff to improve your results
  • Get hands-on experience by accessing on-the-job training with our employer partners
  • Receive support to address barriers to employment and connect to services in your community
  • Also, sessions are offered bi-monthly, and you can attend from the comfort of your home.
  • We are focused on making sure you have the right skills and to help you find opportunities to get hired. Our graduates will gain valuable skills that are give them the edge in the job market.


How do you qualify?

  • Be interested and passionate about working as an Activity Leader
  • Be betwen the ages of 19 to 29 years old (inclusive)
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, refugee or International Student graduate on an open work permit
  • Ability to pass a criminal record with vulnerable sector check
  • Eager to gain new skills, acquire work experience and land a permanent job
  • Interested in working with kids of various ages
  • Prepared to plan a variety of indoor and outdoor activities
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Willing and able to complete 20 hours of online training required for the on-the-job training placement
  • Live in the Great Vancouver Regional District, preferably close to or within a reasonable commute of Tsawwassen and Ladner
  • Want to be a part of a successful FREE training program
  • Are ready and eager to look for work
  • Have access to an Internet connection


What does the program offer?

  • Practical training in a comfortable learning environment with online workshops delivered by our “live” experts on job readiness
  • Web-based training on a variety of key skills needed to succeed in the labour market
  • Job interview practice via videoconferencing, as well as resume and cover letter preparation
  • Depending on circumstances and need, it can include online training for in-demand certificates such as First Aid, WHMIS and more. This will make you stand out from other job seekers.
  • Access to our large Youth Employment Services (YES) library of online modules to further enhance your skills and employability
  • Virtual online one-to-one support from specialized Job Coaches, offering ongoing job search and employment retention support for up to 3 months
  • Learn at your own pace through short yet effective hands-on training
  • Earn cash rewards

What if you don’t qualify, can I still benefit in some way?

How does that work?

If the person you refer completes the Employment Now training, you will receive a $100 cash referral incentive. For instance if you refer 3 people, and all 3 complete, then you would receive $100 for each for a total of $300 cash.


Can you be attending school part-time and still participate in the training?

Yes, as long as you’re taking 3 courses or less and are available during the dates/times that the training is offered.


Where is the training offered?

All training is currently offered online, although for those who require it, special accommodation can be made for in-person support on a limited basis, and as long as COVID-19 social distancing and health policies are being met.
