About this event

Essential Pain Management (EPM) &

Advanced Approaches to Manage Pain (AMP)

Course Overview

Pain assessment, management, and evaluation are foundational skills for nurses working in any practice setting. Since these skills are often not thoroughly covered in nursing programs, the EPM course aims to equip nurses with a foundational knowledge base and skills around pain management, from a palliative care approach, that can be applied to your practice. The focus of this course is on the pharmacological management of pain.

There are two parts to the course, Essential Pain Management (EPM) and Advanced Approaches to Manage Pain (AMP).

Intended Audience

EPM and AMP have been designed to benefit and appeal to RPNs, RNs, and NPs who care for adults living with life-limiting illnesses. The course is designed to allow you to set your own learning pace as you enhance foundational knowledge, interact with evidence-informed tools and resources to complete case-based activities, and engage in one or more coaching sessions designed to be responsive to your individual pain-related learning needs.
