Join artist Lisa Leskien as she leads you through the Linocut printmaking process.
No printmaking experience necessary. Suitable for ages 12+. You will be guided through the steps from creating and transfering an image onto the blocks, techniques for carving, techniques for printmaking in various colours like reductions and puzzle techniques, inking the block, registering the prints, hand-printing, and signing and numbering the prints.
The $125 price includes all materials and step-by-step instructions to carve 2 blocks, and make a limited edition print run of 15 on paper, 6 cards (with envalopes), a notebook, and a canvas tote/pouch.
We will be using water-based printing ink (that can stain clothing). It may get messy. Please wear clothes that you are OK getting ink on. We are solvent-free (no smelly cleaners here!). Please arrive 5 minutes early. Exploring Linocut Printmaking workshop registrations must be paid in advance - ticket sales end on Friday May 24, 2024.
Food and drink are available for purchase from the lovely Lodge Coffee Shop located in Books on Main Across the street from the Hive Studio. Food and cafe beverages will be available for you to purchase from the Lodge to bring back to the studio to enjoy while you create.
