Fall 2019 Welcome Day-Surrey

Surrey Welcome Day is for all new undergraduate students who will be taking classes primarily out of the Surrey campus. During this day you will:

• meet professors, classmates, and staff who will be a part of your new SFU community;
• find out more about your program of study in a faculty session;
• get comfortable with your new campus and even find your upcoming classrooms; and
• receive free SFU merch, including a t-shirt!

Schedule Highlight

• 10:00 am - Check-in
• 11:15 am - Welcome Ceremony (including keynote speaker Blake Fly)
• 12:30 pm- BBQ Lunch (free!)
• 1:45 pm- Faculty Sessions
• 4:00 pm - Wrap-up Carnival (optional condensed campus tour)

Please register in advance as it allows us to guarantee you a meal, to accommodate for dietary restrictions, and to ensure you are grouped with peers in your faculty. Please note you can only register for one Welcome Day.

Surrey Welcome Day participants are invited to Burnaby campus the following day on Thursday, August 29th to join Burnaby Welcome Day participants at a BBQ and Movie Night starting at 6:00 pm. Please note the BBQ is only open to Welcome Day participants, so you will be required to bring up your nametag to participate, however you do not need to register for Burnaby Welcome Day.

If you are a student from an International Pathway, and/or living in Residence, check out the additional programs and events for you here. Students enrolled in the School of Contemporary Arts (SCA) are encouraged to attend the Burnaby campus Welcome Day, in addition to attending SCA Orientation.

Please note this event is for new students only. We invite parents, friends and family to join their student in signing up for a campus tour if interested in getting to know the SFU campus community.
