On October 1st CIAFV is excited to host the Aboriginal Counseling Services of Alberta's Executive Director, Sue Languedoc!

Sue is a Métis mother of two young men. Her Indigenous roots come from the Wood Mountain reserve in Saskatchewan. Sue has worked in the counseling profession since 1980 and is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. She is the Executive Director of the Aboriginal Counseling Services Association of Alberta which she co-founded in 1992.

Her area of expertise is working in the area of Aboriginal Family Violence and is the co-chair of the CIAFV Leadership Team.

Sue has conducted Canada wide research and co-wrote Reducing Family Violence in Canadian Aboriginal Communities; The Development of a Comprehensive Prevention Program, which led to the development and implementation of the Circle of Safety Family Violence program. The program has been in operation since 2004 and continues to evolve as the men, women, and children continue to teach us.
