Fire Making Workshop for Women

Come and learn the fundamentals of making fire, tending fire, wood chopping, knife handling and participate in a friction fire demo!
Claudelle and Marie have been on empowering learning journeys with Fire. In this workshop they will open the world of this basic skill to empower women and offer them the opportunity to bring fire keeping and tending to their own lives and community.
Creating fire with our own hands is deeply connective. Practicing the skill of wood chopping and fire building brings us closer to ourselves, to nature and to our ancestors. It is in our bones, all of us have relatives who were making fire and using friction methods.

- Song and Storytelling
This will be a one day event, on our property, for Women ages 17-100.

Come with a fixed blade knife, water, a packed lunch and warm layers

Your Instuctors:
Claudelle Charette and Marie Whimbey are graduates of Wisdom of the Earth school 1st year immersion and 2nd year apprenticeship. Some of our Mentors are Jean-Claude, Ingrid Bauer, Arnaud Gagné, Matthew McKinney and Mother nature. Presently we are forest mentors at Wolf Pups on Salt Spring Island, Forest Scouts and Wild and Alive adult program at Thriving Roots Wilderness School and privately in the Cowichan Valley.
