About this event

Intended Audience:

Fire Service personnel responsible for Fire Department vehicles and apparatus.

Fleet management and apparatus maintenance are essential components of a successful fire department. This interactive workshop looks at the steps involved in building, implementing and maintaining a fleet management program. Components include vehicle types, maintenance and service cycle, inspections, planning, costs, and apparatus life cycles. The second part of the program takes a close look at preventative maintenance including the actions taken to appropriately conduct apparatus inspection and maintenance.

This is a prerequisite for 4.2 Fire Officer training

Participants will be able to develop and implement a fleet management and apparatus maintenance program that supports the community in realizing the full lifespan of capital assets, and ensuring vehicles and apparatus are in service when needed for response.
