The business case for diversity and inclusion (DNI) has never been stronger, with study after study confirming that diverse teams and inclusive work cultures play a key role in thriving businesses. Companies that effectively implement DNI practices and policies consistently produce higher quality products and services and emerge as leaders in their respective industries. In Canada, the passing of Bill C-16 now ensures protection for both gender identity and gender expression under the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code. Join us for this half-day workshop to find out. Drawing from the fields of behavioural psychology, organizational development, and the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ people in the workplace, this workshop will provide a safe and interactive learning environment to help participants uncover and begin to challenge deep rooted unconscious biases and beliefs while simultaneously educating them about the challenges of LGBTQ+ people in the working world. In addition, we will discuss best hiring practices and encourage attendees to bring their organization-specific policy questions for on-the-spot coaching and live feedback. Participants will walk away with a customized action plan to help their organization and/or team take the necessary next steps towards building a more inclusive, thus higher performing and increasingly innovative working environment.
