Free Coding Class for Kids (In-Person)

Free Coding Workshop for Kids who are interested and wish to learn Coding and Robotics with Scratch and CS Fundamentals. The 1 hour class with kickstart and introduce kids to some key concepts and fundamentals of Programming and Coding using Scratch and Code.Org

About the Workshop

Problem-solving, logic, cause and effect, and computational thinking are all aided by coding. While learning computer science, students can use Computer Science Fundamentals to reinforce topics in English language arts and mathematics. The Program is organized around a framework that I call the “Four P’s of Creative Learning”: Projects, Passion, Peers, and Play.

About the Hands-On workshop

The hands-on workshop will be mentored by our experienced Instructors, and will be helping kids getting started with Coding, and developing Problem-solving skills, Computational thinking, and Block-based Programming. Kids with no experience to expertise at block based programming are welcomed.

We believe in five characteristics of play that leads to deeper learning

(2) Helps children find meaning in what they are doing or learning,

(3) Involves active, engaged, minds-on thinking,

(4) As well as iterative thinking (experimentation, hypothesis testing, etc), and

(5) Social interaction.

These five characteristics of play draw an evidence for how children learn best (the science of learning) and how to foster a playful mindset.
